Turn all of your rejection and pain into a road map to find the real you.

Hi, I’m Misty! Below is a little info about me and how I arrived here—with you reading this and me doing what I love.

In all honesty, I didn’t start out thinking I’d be a therapist. I started college believing I wanted to be a pharmacist. This made absolutely no sense as I am not good with numbers. Literally, the classes I despised and felt were torture all through high school were always math! I was failing classes and on the verge of getting kicked out. I was feeling no sense of inspiration or joy in school. I went to see my college counselor to state “something has to give, this pharmacy thing just isn’t working out.” After normalizing my experience she gave me some occupational tests to take. The results came back with various options although when I saw Therapist my heart began to beat. Immediately, my inner voice resounded with a “YES!”

I had been to therapy off and on several times. Sitting across from my therapists, I never had the thought “this is what I want to do when I’m adulting.” Guess my mind was focused on other things, harder things at those points in time. But when I saw Therapist I knew. I’m a helper by nature and have always been drawn to hearing people’s stories—a hunger to better understand humans and why we function the way we do. I immediately changed majors and never looked back. I feel incredibly lucky to have found my calling. I LOVE what I do!

You’re still reading so here’s more:

-I’m not originally from Utah. Due to my stepfather being in the military, I was gifted with the experience of different cultures. I still love to travel, but finances, kids, and life responsibilities make it not happen on a weekly basis. Dang it. Ok, I can handle that. I start going stir crazy after a few months and have to do something, even if it’s a quick weekender nearby. Utah is breathtaking.
-I try to live a healthy life style yet I haven’t been able to turn down a glazed donut since 2011. Or, if I’m being honest, ever.
-I love music, especially live music, although never learned to play an instrument. And I can’t sing. It’s the worst. Nails on a chalk board. Almost as bad as my cooking. Doesn’t stop me from singing though. It’s unfortunate for my husband of 13 years. He says he loves it. I’m not sure if he’s being honest or just loves me. Either way, I’ll take it.
-I’m a ginger that has 2 gingers. My son is 14 and my girl is 12. I can’t think of anything more humbling than parenting.
-I’ve always had dogs and never really liked cats. After my daughter begged for years for a cat, we decided to adopt what we thought was a male cat to take over the mousing for our dog. We named him Bob. Recently, we thought Bob was getting fat and lazy. Turns out Bob was pregnant! A bit of a shock. We went from “Absolutely no cats!” to a cat and kittens. AND…I actually kind of like them. Who knew?

What People Are Saying About Me

“I started working with Misty a few months ago and I can’t say enough good things about her work as a therapist. I was skeptical of therapy at first, but am so glad that I found Misty and now meet with her on a regular basis. Misty is kind, thoughtful, and always non-judgmental. I really do feel I can share anything with her and that she has my best interest at heart. Misty works to make sure each session is personalized and her therapy is very solution-oriented. She helps identify areas for growth and provides ideas for practical ways to make positive change. I would recommend therapy with Misty to anyone looking to get back into therapy or trying therapy for the first time.”

Misty Rosier is an amazing therapist and I highly recommend working with her. Misty has helped me to understand complex family dynamics and to build resilience for healthier relationships.

I have learned how to understand myself and my own patterns of learned behaviors that were not helpful in achieving peaceful relationships. Misty has helped me to build new ways of responding to situations vs. reacting.

Misty is an excellent listener and excels at helping me to implement solutions every time we talk. I practice what we talk about on a weekly basis and it always improves the quality of my life.
